National Diploma in Floriculture and Landscape Gardening Technology
The Department of National Botanic Gardens is offering a new National Diploma in Floriculture and Landscape Gardening Technology. The program is a two-year course that will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in horticulture and landscape gardening.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Sri Lankan males or females between the ages of 18 and 35.
- They must have a credit pass in English language at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination (Compulsory)
- Applicants must have either:
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Landscaping Technician (Landscape Development Assistant)
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field from a recognized institution approved by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission OR
- G.C.E. Advanced Level examination with three simple passes in one sitting under the following subject streams: Bio Science/ Physical Science (Maths), Technology
Program Details
- Duration: 1 year of theory and practical work (full time) followed by a 6-month internship (full time)
- Medium of Instruction: English
- Course Fee: Rs. 25,000
- Application Fee: Rs. 500
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted by registered post to the Assistant Director, School of Floriculture and Landscape Gardening, Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya on or before May 31, 2024. Applications must be filled out in English and include a non-refundable bank slip for Rs. 500. The bank slip should be deposited to the Director General’s Account No.: 7040848 at the Bank of Ceylon, Peradeniya, Department of National Botanic Gardens. Write “National Diploma in Floriculture and Landscape Gardening Technology – NVQ 5” on the top left corner of the envelope.
