Applications are invited for Allama Iqbal Muhammad Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students under the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme 2024

Allama Iqbal Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students 2024

Education Cooperation Programme. The Allama Iqbal Scholarships, which will be distributed over the next five years, will provide an excellent opportunity for 1000 Sri Lankan students to visit Pakistan and pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree programmes in Engineering Science, Basic and Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The scholarship aims to encourage an effective exchange of knowledge as well as a better understanding of cultures and traditions between Sri Lankan and Pakistani students. Selected candidates will study at top-tier Pakistani universities, gain knowledge of Pakistani society and values, develop leadership skills, and assist in educating fellow Pakistani students and community groups about their country and culture.The Allama Iqbal Scholarships are part of the Higher Education Commission’s internationalisation initiative, which aims to encourage international students to study in Pakistan.

Women are strongly encouraged to apply for these scholarships.

Study Area /Disciplines

This scholarship is open to all disciplines at the BS, MS, and Ph.D. levels in Medicine, Engineering, Basic and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, including Architecture, Fine Arts, Business Education, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Agriculture Sciences, Media & Communication Studies, Languages, and soon.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND FIELD OF STUDY

01. Medicine. – GCE A’ Levels or an equivalent examination (Pre-Medical) with a minimum of 65%.

02. Engineering. – GCE A’ Levels or an equivalent examination (Pre-Engineering) with a minimum of 65% marks.

03. Bachelor’s Degree. – GCE A’ Levels / equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in required subjects.

04. Master’s Degrees. -16 years of relevant education with 60% marks at the graduate level

05. Doctor of Philosophy. -18 years of relevant experience with a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 at the Master’s level. A master’s level research thesis is required.

NOTE -After receiving the Allama Iqbal Scholarship, candidates must provide an Equivalence Certificate from IBCC and HEC.

TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR Allama Iqbal Scholarship for Srilankan students 2024 / 2025
Scholarships are only available to Sri Lankan citizens. Dual citizens are ineligible.
The age limit for BS programmes is 17-22 years, with a maximum age limit of 35 years for graduate and doctoral programmes.

The candidate must have obtained the required qualification on or before the application deadline.
After completing his or her education in Pakistan, the candidate will be required to serve in Sri Lanka.
After a physical examination of the applicant’s documents, selection will be made solely on merit.
The placement of students will be entirely at the discretion of HEC.
English will be the medium of instruction.
The merit list will be created based on the information provided by the applicant. Scholarships will be terminated at any time if there is any misinformation or misrepresentation.

HOW TO APPLY Allama Iqbal Scholarship 2024/ 2025

An online application form can be found at http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/paksl.
All enrolled candidates take part in a scholarship test organised by the Higher Education Commission in partnership with the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Higher Education.
Those who have been shortlisted will be interviewed at the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo in partnership with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Higher Education.

The deadline for Allama Iqbal Scholarship 2024 applications is May 26 2024.
