Short Courses in Korean Language 2024
The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has announced the second intake for its Short Courses in Korean Language for 2024. This initiative, conducted by the Department of Language Studies, is designed for school leavers, job seekers, and professionals interested in learning Korean, a language that is increasingly becoming important due to global cultural and economic exchanges.
Target Group
The course targets:
- School Leavers: Young individuals who have recently completed their schooling.
- Employment Seekers: Individuals actively looking for job opportunities.
- Professionals: Those who are currently employed and wish to enhance their language skills for career advancement.
Admission Criteria
Basic Level:
- Applicants must be over 16 years old at the time of registration.
Intermediate Level:
- Applicants must be over 16 years old at the time of registration.
- Additionally, they must have completed the Short Course in Korean Language (Basic Level) conducted by the Department of Language Studies OR
- Pass the Selection Test/Interview conducted by the Department.
Course Details
- Medium of Instruction: English, Sinhala, and Korean.
- Duration: 6 months (48 hours).
- Course Fee: Rs. 10,000.00.
- Application Fee: Rs. 350.00.
- Mode of Delivery: Options available for online (via online classes and assessments) and on-site (in-person classes and assessments).
Application Procedure
- Application Deadline: Duly completed applications must be emailed to wrraj@ou.ac.lk on or before 31st August 2024.
- Selection Process: Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, and applicants must meet the specified requirements. All students are expected to have an email account (Gmail) to follow the courses.
