The Ceylon Teachers Service Union (CTSU) has written a letter to the Minister of Education expressing concern over the lack of transparency in the appointment process for Sri Lankan educational positions.
The letter highlights the following issues:
- The results of the 2021 Sri Lanka Educational Administration Service (Limited) competitive examination have not yet been released.
- According to a gazette notification, the names of those who qualified for the interview stage of the selection process should have been published on the website of the Ministry of Education.
- The CTSU alleges that some candidates were invited for interviews despite not being shortlisted according to the published criteria.
- This lack of transparency has caused suspicion among candidates about the fairness of the selection process.
The CTSU is calling for the following:
- The immediate release of the results of the 2021 Sri Lanka Educational Administration Service (Limited) competitive examination.
- A halt to interviews until the aforementioned results/Name List are published.
The Ministry of Education has not yet responded to the CTSU’s letter.
