Postponement of sports meets : New circular from Education Ministry
Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education has issued a new directive to all state schools, postponing sports meets and other outdoor activities until after April 24, 2024. This decision comes in light of the prevailing hot weather conditions across the country, prioritizing the health and safety of students.
The circular, issued by Ministry Secretary Wasantha Perera, highlights the potential health risks associated with strenuous outdoor activities during this period. School principals have been instructed to adhere to these guidelines and reschedule sports meets and outdoor events for a later date, falling within the second or third term of the first academic term of 2024.
The Ministry of Education prioritizes the well-being of students and encourages schools to act accordingly during this time.
