National Research Council of Sri Lanka Announces Job Vacancies 2024
The National Research Council of Sri Lanka (NRC), a government funding agency that supports public sector scientists in the country, is announcing several job openings.
The available positions are:
- Scientific/Research Officer (AR 1- 02 posts)
- Procurement Officer (JM 1-1 – 01 Post)
Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
Scientific/Research Officer
- Responsibilities:
- Manage research projects
- Publish project information
- Maintain databases
- Conduct statistical analysis
- Prepare reports
- Coordinate events such as seminars and workshops
- Qualifications:
- Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka
- Either:
- A Special Degree in a relevant field (Science, Medicine, Engineering, etc.) recognized by the University Grants Commission, Sri Lanka.
- Or, a General Degree in a relevant field with a postgraduate diploma in the relevant field.
- Age: Between 22 and 45 years old (the upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates)
- Responsibilities:
Procurement Officer
- Responsibilities:
- Manage all procurement and contract-related matters to support the NRC’s efficient operation, following the NRC and National Procurement Guidelines.
- Qualifications:
- Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka
- Either:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, or Management from a University Grants Commission recognized institution in Sri Lanka.
- And, a minimum of one year of post-qualifying experience in public service, a corporation, statutory body/institute, or a reputable private institution.
- Or, for internal candidates:
- Have the qualifications required for external candidates.
- And, have completed a minimum of five years of satisfactory service in a post of the Management Assistant-Non-Technological (MAN) grade in a subject relevant to the post.
- Age: Between 22 and 45 years old (the upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates)

How to Apply
Interested applicants should submit their signed applications with copies of their birth certificate, other relevant certificates, and the names and addresses of two non-related referees. They should mark the envelope with the post they are applying for and send it by registered post to the Chairman, National Research Council, 120/7, Vidya Mawatha, Colombo 07, Sri Lanka on or before May 26, 2024. Applications from employees of government corporations or statutory boards should be forwarded through the heads of their respective institutions.
