GCE A/L 2026 Classes to Begin Early After 2024 O/L Exams

The Ministry of Education has announced that Advanced Level (A/L) classes will begin for students who sat for the 2024 Ordinary Level (O/L) examination as soon as the O/L exam is finished. This decision was made following a discussion with all Provincial Chief Secretaries and Provincial Officers on April 25, 2024, chaired by the Hon. Minister of Education.
Students who sat for the 2024 O/L exam and are enrolled in schools offering A/L courses will be directed to the A/L classes in the same school. Students from schools that only offer up to Grade 11 and do not offer Science or Technology streams will be temporarily transferred to schools that do offer A/L courses.
Provincial Directors of Education have been instructed to identify schools that can accommodate these transferred students and to submit a soft copy of the completed information by May 4, 2024 to the Additional Secretary (Schools) via email. ░
