Examinations Department Clarifies GCE O/L Results Timeline – Announces GIT Result Release Soon
The Department of Examinations issued a clarification today regarding the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination 2023 (2024) results. Contrary to previous reports, including one published in DailyNews on Monday, June 24th, 2024, the GCE O/L results will not be released within the next ten days.
Examination Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara confirmed that the evaluation process for the GCE O/L exams is still ongoing. However, he did announce positive news for students awaiting their General Information Technology (IT) exam results. The Department aims to release the IT exam results within the next ten days.
Commissioner General Jayasundara also provided an update on the overall GCE O/L exam schedule. The practical tests for the exams will commence on July 9th, 2024. The Department has already completed the evaluation of the first phase of answer papers.
