A-Level Exams Scheduled for November 2024 Aims for September 2025
Sri Lanka’s Education Minister, Susil Premjayantha, announced plans to hold the GCE A-Level examinations in November of this year. This marks a shift from the previous schedule and aims to get the examination calendar back on track. He also set a target of conducting the A-Level exams in September by 2025.
Premjayantha emphasized the Ministry’s efforts to streamline the education process. One initiative involves allowing students to begin A-Level classes immediately after completing Ordinary Level exams, even before the results are released. This reduces wasted time between levels and expedites university entrance.
The Minister highlighted the success of this approach so far and confirmed that ongoing A-Level classes will continue after the Ordinary Level results are released. This ensures a smoother transition for students and minimizes disruptions in their studies.
